I tend to here it more from Mr. Benson than from D.W.One suggestion I have is to keep her lower than shoulder height that way she is not in the dominate position.
Pionus by nature can be a little reserved and she may content herself with being in your presence rather
than being cuddled or handled. D.W. loves to be on me and is absolutely stupid happy to have a shower
on her perch with me as is Mr. Benson but neither one like to be pet except for the occasional head scratch.
Both of my Pionus were hand raised by me and it would appear that they are somewhat hardwired to be
slightly stand offish. Mr. Benson is considerably more vocal than D.W. not sure if that is a male female thing
or a White Cap versus Blue Head thing. I thoughly enjoy them both and I am sure you will get to know
the likes and limits of yours as well. I love Pionus parrots
